Metin Uca

Metin Uca is an outspoken satirical political analyst who conveys his comedic wisdom to the Turkish public through his television shows, newspaper columns and published books.  Uca, who was born in 1961, spent his undergraduate years studying both geological engineering and theater.  In 1986, Uca began his career in journalism, quickly gaining the attention of the public and his peers, and shortly thereafter transitioning to radio and television.  The provocative commentator has prompted debate with his liberal views on current issues such as Turkey’s involvement in the Iraq war.  In 2006, Uca published his most recent book, Yes Yerine Orrayt Demek Caiz midir Hocam?, which he claims should be read not so much for its literary value as for its commentary on the present day politics of Turkey.
