The prequel to Masumiyet (Innocence), Kader (Destiny) takes us to the beginning years of the love triangle between Bekir, Uğur and Zagor. Revisiting themes of love, desire, passion and obsession, the film follows the story, which was first revealed to us by Bekir’s long monologue in innocence.

From The Press

Destiny is not a movie in which the often-talked-about subjects of everyday social life and the characters of such subjects are put on our plate after being turned into generic and somewhat caricatured versions. It does not build its story with the purpose of shedding light on the social traumas that cannot be talked about. On the contrary, it weaves its story around the quotidian aspects of life—the small details which are always with us, and yet are never treated as necessary subject matters of our conversations—or the daily traumas that we do not know what to say about. Destiny is a love story that is lived among furniture without brand names, slippers purchased from the bazaar and crooked, shoddy buildings. Its heroes are not heroes; it is a story that does not masculinize violence, eroticize prostitution and carry messages in its dialogues. It is a love story without nostalgia and melancholia.
