Zahur Mukerrem

Zahur Mükerrem graduated from VGIK in Moscow in 1963 and worked as a cinematographer and director in Azerbaijani film studio, Azerfilm, in Baku. He later became the manager of Azerfilm-Anılar documentary film studio, and served as the head of the Cinema-TV department of Kayseri Erciyes University from 1996 to 1998. Since 1998, he has been teaching at Eskişehir Anadolu University. In 2003, his 1983 documentary film Göç (Migration) won the first prize in the documentary competition of the 2nd Baku “Our Forgotten Films” Festival. Mükerrem also received awards from the Azerbaijani government.
