Murat Bicak

Murat Bıçak earned his undergraduate degree from ETH Zurich, completed coursework for a master’s degree in film and television at İstanbul Bilgi University and received his M.B.A. from Columbia Business School. He worked as a screenwriter for several popular television series in Turkey before moving to New York in 2000. In New York, he worked as a film distributor, director and screenwriter. He formed International Film Factory where he has produced and directed short films as well as commercial projects. Geçmişimin Donuk Kiraz Çiçekleri (Frozen Cherry Blossoms from My Past)is his first short filmand was screened at many film festivals. The film also received a silver award at the Houston Film Festival and was selected to the 2007 Cannes Film Market. His second short film, Kayıp Eş (Lost Companion), starring Kathy Tong (Something’s Gotta Give, One Life To Live) is in post-production to be released in Fall 2007. Bıçak is currently working on developing his first feature film, Spiro, which was selected as a finalist at the Montpellier Film Festival in France.
