Didem Basar (kanun)

Basar graduated from the Turkish Music State Conservatory's Composition Department of Istanbul Technical University. In 1999, she earned her Master's degree in Islamic History and arts from Marmara University's Department of Social Sciences. She was involved in the project Tango Turco with Mutlu Torun, in which they interpreted Turkish tango songs with kanun (plucked zither) and ud (oud). She was involved in national and international performances and CD productions with the Ayangil Turkish Music Orchestra and Chorus, Istanbul Authentic Turkish Music Committee, Bezmârâ, Kutsi Ergüner's Harem Group, and the Timur Selçuk Orchestra. Basar continues her work as a kanun performer in the Istanbul University Classical Turkish Music Performers' Committee.
