Cem Duruöz (guitar)

Turkish-born Cem Duruöz began his guitar training with Safa Gürbüz and won first prize in the Turkish National Guitar Competition at the age of seventeen. He continued his training in Europe with master-classes of John Duarte, Oscar Ghiglia and Eliot Fisk. In 1990, Duruöz attended Stanford University as a composition student, and completed his graduate guitar studies at The Juilliard School with Sharon Isbin. As an internationally acclaimed guitarist, Cem Duruöz performed in Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, Japan, France, Greece and Turkey and the United States. Duruöz currently teaches guitar at Wesleyan University.
