Binnaz Celik (kemence)

Çelik graduated from the Turkish Music State Conservatory of Istanbul Technical University’s classical kemençe (three-stringed fiddle) and composing departments. She earned her master’s from the same university’s Social Sciences department, and her doctoral degree from Marmara University on Islamic History and Arts. She worked as a kemençe player in the Istanbul University Performers Committee, the Ayangil Turkish Music Orchestra and Chorus, TRT Istanbul Radio Station and the Harem Group founded by Kutsi Ergüner. She performed with many artists in national and international festivals and participated in various CD productions. Currently, Çelik works as a kemençe player in the Istanbul State Turkish Music Ensemble of the Ministry of Culture, the Ayangil Turkish Music Orchestra and Chorus, and teaches at Haliç University.
