Kaan Nazli (Director)

Kaan Nazli was a member of the Ankara Communications Theater in 1996-1999, where he performed in The Crucible, The Trojan War Will Not Take Place and The Balcony. Since moving to New York City he has been active in theater and film, working as an assistant director in Theater for the New City and HomeWorks Theater productions. He produced various theater productions in New York City, including Play A La Turka by HomeWorks, which participated in the Fringe Festival New York City in 2000, I, Anatolia by Times Circle, and Dream in New York by the New Repertory Theatre. He most recently directed Franz Kafka’s Metamorphosis (adapted by Steve Berkoff) as a part of MayFest 2004 by the Moon and Stars Project. He has been enrolled in the Performance Studies MA program at New York University Tisch School of the Arts, and completed a film directing and production program at the Digital Film Academy in June 2003. He has directed two short films, Trois (co-directed with Brendan Keane) and Inquisition. Last summer, he participated in workshops on Augusto Boal’s Theater for the Oppressed at the Brecht Forum and the Tisch School of the Arts in New York City.
