| Sumru Yavrucuk Sumru Yavrucuk was born in Ankara. She holds a MFA in Theater Arts from Ankara State Conservatory and has been acting at the Istanbul State Theater since 1982. She has appeared in successful plays such as Macbeth, Abdülcanbaz, Yasar Is Neither Alive Nor Dead, Hürmüz and Her Seven Husbands, Female Parts and The Beauty Queen of Leenane. She worked as a director for ten years at an award-winning theater group named “Silent Theater” comprised of hearing-impaired actors. Yavrucuk also starred in movies such as No Comment by Eser Zorlu, I Love You Rosa by Isil Özgentürk, and Nude and The Secret by Ali Özgentürk. She helped introduce a new generation of actors to Turkish theater and still teaches drama at Eskisehir Anadolu University. She is the recipient of many awards, including a Golden Orange, Golden Cocoon and Golden Lens awards, as well as three Avni Dilligil and Afife Jale awards. |
