H.Selen
Akçali
H. Selen Akçali, coordinator of the 40 Stations New York project,
was born in Istanbul in 1981. She attended the Lycée de Saint Michel
and graduated from the Department of Public Affairs in French at Marmara
University. She is currently a master’s student in the Political Science
Department at Bogaziçi University, and also works as a consultant
for various European Union projects. Akçalı, who was delighted to
have serendipitously met Yanmaz, conducts interviews with portrait subjects
and is heavily involved with the logistical aspects of the project, as well
as the preparation of the book to be published at the conclusion of the
40 series. She is also coordinating Yanmaz’s new project called 40
Ships/Istanbul, which is currently in progress.
