Soner Özer(percussion)
Soner Özer started his musical education under his father Erdem Özer’s
guidance and continued with Hasim Yedican at the Ankara State Conservatory.
Following his graduation, Özer joined the Ankara State Opera and Ballet
Repertory. From 1991 to 1993, he traveled to France, Switzerland and the
United States to collaborate with Sylvio Gualda, Yves Bruestaux, William
Blanc, John Mayer on classical, jazz, modern and latin percussion. He teamed
up with Dinçer Özer to form the Özer Percussion Duo. The
duo enjoyed extensive media attention with their Houston concert in 1995.
Some of his compositions include Onlar Kimdi Biliyor musun? (Do You
Know Who They Were?), Edim (The Deed), Amerika (America), Anafor (The Vortex)
and Sultans of the Dance. He currently works at Istanbul State
Opera and Ballet Repertory.
Dinçer Özer(percussion)
Dinçer Özer started his musical education under his father
Erdem Özer’s guidance and continued with Hasim Yedican at the
Ankara State Conservatory. Following his graduation, Özer joined
the Presidential Symphony Orchestra. He enrolled in Professor Sylvio Gualda’s
master class and explored jazz and rock by working with S. Saunders Smith
and Kenneith Anoff. In 1990, he earned a special scholarship from the
Government of Switzerland to work with William Blanc and John Mayer at
the Geneva Conservatory and played with the Swiss Roman Orchestra and
the Geneva Percussion Group. He teamed up with Soner Özer to form
the Özer Percussion Duo. Currently, Dinçer Özer works
as an assistant conductor at the Presidential Symphony Orchestra and teaches
at the Music Department of Gazi University and the School of Fine Arts.
