Pakize Türkoglu
Born in 1927 in the Antalya-Alanya region, Pakize Türkoglu is a teacher
and author. She is a graduate of the Aksu Village Institute, High Village
Institute, and the child psychology department of the Istanbul Education
Institute. Türkoglu worked as a teacher and administrator for forty years
in several elementary, middle, and high schools. Since retiring from Marmara
University in 1985, she has continued working as an educational consultant
in the private sector. She has also served as a board member of the Turkish
Teachers Union. In 1998, she received the Türkiye Is Bankasi Social and
Humanitarian Sciences Award for her book Tonguç and His Institutes.
She continues to write on education for various newspapers and magazines
and is on the editorial board of Yeniden Imece.
