Billed as Turkey's first horror film, Okul (School) tells the story of a group of high school students. Gökalp, the editor of the school magazine, is in love with the beautiful Güldem. But Güldem already has a boyfriend. Knowing that his love will go unrequited and unable to communicate his feelings, Gökalp commits suicide. One year later, on the eve of the University Entrance Examinations, Güldem and her friends find themselves plagued by mysterious occurrences. Could it be the ghost of Gökalp taking his revenge on the ones who hurt him most? Directors Yağmur and Durul Taylan say: "There are no youth films in Turkey. There haven't been any made until today. We made this film for young people. When viewed from a certain angle, yes, Okul is a first. And we aren't speaking of only the genre and the narration. What we would like to underline is this: We made a film with a fidgety, lively story that takes place at a high school with actors of high school age. That's why we're hopeful that children are going to like this film. They are going to find something of themselves in it."
