Known for playing modern jazz with an edge that incorporates clever arrangements and a hard swinging beat, this New York-based quartet features the instrumental proficiency of bandleader and saxophonist Kim Bock, pianist and composer Sıla Çevikçe, bassist Adam Armstrong, and drummer Kresten Osgood. Inspired by 1960’s jazz legends Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter and John Coltrane, the quartet has earned international critical acclaim for its originality, and its debut CD, The Tunnel (2002), received rave reviews, especially in the European press.

Down Beat magazine hails Danish saxophonist Bock as “an exceptional player who has matched the physical challenge of his instrument, as illustrated by impressive technique and an appealing tone, both of which he has achieved through genuine talent.” And according to legendary trumpet player Maynard Ferguson, “Kim Bock is a player that fits into the category of world- famous jazz artists that have passed through my band…As my featured tenor saxophone player, Kim displays, night after night, outstanding musicianship with exceptional skills on the saxophone and a deep knowledge of the jazz idiom that makes a truly great jazz artist.”

The quartet’s repertoire will feature several original compositions by Bock and his wife, Sıla Çevikçe, some of which are included in the Greenwich Blue release When Our Time Comes (Solar Jazz 1997), a 1998 National Public Radio featured CD.
