We are getting ready for MayFest 2003 – our fifth annual month-long
arts and culture festival. Called the “most ambitious cultural project
that Turks living outside of Turkey have ever undertaken”, MayFest
was the Moon and Stars Project’s first foray into building cultural
bridges between the United States and Turkey and remains the heart
and soul of our organization’s endeavors.
In our fifth year, MayFest 2003 is poised to follow in the footsteps
of the successes of our first four years and has grown into something
bigger than any of us could have ever imagined.
This year, join us at Central Park for a free concert, see award-winning
puppets tell Nasreddin Hoca tales, listen to Anatolian folk songs
where baglama and opera meet, give yourself a night on the town
with jazz, watch Turkish talent in an off-off-Broadway production,
or visit an art exhibition (or two) and enjoy the show!
