Moon and Stars Project tarafından bu sene yedincisi düzenlenecek olan School of Visual Arts New York Yaz Atölye Programı icin son başvuru tarihi yoğun talep üzerine 11 Nisan’a uzatılmıştır.

NEW YORK’TA ATÖLYE PROGRAMI BURSU İÇİN AÇIK ÇAĞRI

RESİM VE KARIŞIK MEDYA
31 Mayıs – 1 Temmuz  2011

Düzenlediğimiz uluslararası program, sanatçılara kendilerine ait bir atölyede çalışma, atölyelerini ziyaret edecek öğretim üyelerinin eleştirilerini dinleme ve misafir sanatçılar, eleştirmenler ve galeri yöneticileri tarafından verilen haftalık konferanslara katılma olanağı vermektedir. 

Seçilecek olan sanatçıya School of Visual Arts’ın Chelsea binasında kendisine ait küçük bir atölye tahsis edilecektir. Öğretim üyeleri Pazartesi – Perşembe günleri arasında atölyeleri ziyaret edeceklerdir. 
Program sonunda düzenlenecek olan açık atölye sergisi ile, programa katılan sanatçımıza eserlerini New York’ta sergileyebilme imkanı sunulacaktır.

Moon and Stars Project, The American Turkish Society, School of Visual Arts ve The Marmara Manhattan sponsorluğunda gerçekleştirilecek olan programa başvuru koşulları aşağıdaki gibidir:

1. Program sadece Türkiye’de ikamet eden ve bir galeri tarafından temsil edilmeyen, gelişmekte olan sanatçılara açıktır. Adayların, minimumda, sözlü iletişim kurabilecek düzeyde İngilizceye hakim olması beklenmektedir. Bu sene programa sadece bir (1) sanatçı seçilecektir.

2. Başvuruların en geç 11 Nisan 2011 tarihine kadar aşağıdaki adrese ulaşmış olması gerekmektedir:

3. Başvuru paketinde bulunması gerekenler aşağıdaki gibidir:
Başvuruyu oluşturan bütün belgelerin A4 (mektup kâğıdı) boyutunda olması gerekmektedir.
Eksik başvurular değerlendirmeye alınmayacaktır. Başvurular sahiplerine iade edilmeyecektir.

a. 15 - 20 yakın tarihli iş görseli çıktısı. (Saydam, CD, lazer çıktısı, fotoğraf, büyük boyutlu fotoğraf albümü, kitap veya diğer formatlardaki hiç bir materyal kabul edilmeyecektir.)
b. İş görsellerinin İngilizce listesi (isim, boyut, yıl, kategorisi, kullanılan malzeme)
c. İngilizce yazılmış “sanatçının açıklaması”
d. Doğum tarihi ve öğrenim geçmişinin belirtildiği İngilizce CV
Arzu edilirse, sanatçının çalışmaları hakkında çıkmış basın materyalı (katalog hariç) başvuruya eklenebilir.

Programa katılacak olan sanatçıyı School of Visual Arts seçecek ve atölyeyi ücretsiz temin edecektir.
Moon and Stars Project ve The American Turkish Society aşağıda sıralanan masrafları karşılayacaktır.

The application deadline for School of Visual Arts New York Summer Residency Program has been extended to April 11 due to popular demand.

OPEN CALL FOR STUDIO RESIDENCY SCHOLARSHIP IN NEW YORK

PAINTING AND MIXED MEDIA
May 31 – July 1, 2011

This internationally renowned program offers artists an opportunity to work intensively in a private studio, receive individual critiques from faculty, and attend weekly lectures given by guest artists, critics, and gallery directors.

The selected participant has exclusive use of a small studio located in the School of Visual Arts Chelsea Building.  Faculty will visit the studios Mondays through Thursdays.  Exposure to the New York art world complements this on-site residency program. The program culminates in an open studio exhibition, which enables the participants to present their work to the public. 

The program is sponsored by the Moon and Stars Project, The American Turkish Society, School of Visual Arts and The Marmara Manhattan.

The application procedure and criteria are as follows;
1.  The program is open only to emerging artists residing in Turkey who are not represented by a gallery.
Applicants should have, at a minimum, a conversational command of English.
One (1) artist will be selected to participate in the program.

2. The applications should be received by April 11, 2011 at the latest, at the following address:

3. The application package should include the following;
Applications lacking any of the following will automatically be eliminated. The applications will not be returned.
All documents in the package should be 8.5” x 11”.

a. 15-20 print-outs of recent work (slides, discs, laser prints, photos, big photo albums, published books or any other format than print-outs of images will not be accepted)
b. A list of the included recent works in English (name of the work, dimensions, year, materials used)
c. Artist’s statement in English
d. CV (in English and stating date of birth and education)
e. Optional: press clippings or other materials showing artistic activity (No catalogs please)

The scholarship winner will be selected by the School of Visual Arts, who will also provide the studio free of charge.
The Moon and Stars Project and The American Turkish Society will sponsor the expenses listed below.

6. One-month unlimited metro card
7. Transportation from and to the airport in New York
